Problem with Remote Key

Does anyone have had problems with the remote key.
90% of the time i can't open or lock my car with my remote key ( my spare doesn't respond either ) I have to use the key to open it. All my setting are also gone then.
Sometimes the remote works and then my radio settings etc also return...

Any ideas

Bring it to the dealer, maybe they have to reprogram or something. You're under warranty. I've never had a problem with my remote.

You may want to try replacing the battery in the remote key, (that is if it is accessable)

Do you have a metallic tint on your car? If so, that could be the cause of interference.

It's just the last month that the problem started, i've got the car for about a year now.
A software update didn't resolve the problem.
At the dealer they haven't had this problem yet with any other X5 so they don't know what's causing it. They say i'll have to bring in the car for maybe a week or longer.
Not looking forward to that but i think there is no other solution

I just had the same problem with my 2005 x5 and they replace the ignition switch and both keys and it works like new.

have Comfort Access, didn't even have to change the battery in 8 months.

No worries or problems except it does not work well to open the rear hatch when i press the button. i just go grab it.
