Newbie w/ navigation questions!?

Hey all I have a couple quick questions on the nav system on the 08 X5....What hardware version does this vehicle have? And what is the latest software version to be released? It just seems that the nav is very outdated and you would think would be a little more adavanced....I was looking on the bimmernav site and it shows a computer upgrade for about 800 that supports 3D mapping and seems to have a much better nav interface...is that something that would work with an 08 setup or is that considered an aftermarket addition and thus would void warranties and such? Also, in the next year when BMW includes the new iDrive system in the X5 w/ the new nav, will that be something that previous X5 owners could upgrade to by changing out the DVD computer? Any thoughts or comments would be great!

Thanks

When you go to the navteq site to order new, they are by company so ordering the BMW DVD should give you the correct one with codes embedded.

Is the DVD that Navteq is selling any different than what comes standard in a brand new X5 tech package?

If so, how????
