i pewrsonally think its a good idea from BMW stand point to up the sales of the M-badge because it does stand for performance, styling, individuality and when you paying the dough for a high end X5 or X6 why not slap the badge on, there are amg ML63, they aint burnt for doing that!

Woohoo....
So does that mean, there is no "is" model coming? When is this X5 ///M slated to arrive in the USA? The E70 has already been out for a while! They need to kick into gear a little... (I can't help but wonder, if the introduction of a ///M X5 might also mean the availability in manual trans w/ left foot clutch.)

I knew it would pass their business case...there's definitely a market for it regardless of the current economic downsides. Just the news I've been patiently awating... Could this be the spy pics we've seen burning rubber around the ring?! |

Filing for a trademark is interesting, but doesn't necessarily mean they will actually offer it -- often trademarks are filed just to protect them from others' claiming them, e.g., (1) the first Ford tractors were called Fordson because someone beat Henry in registering Ford as a tractor trademark, (2) companies such as P&G have a massive number of trademarks filed for potential products, most of which never make it to market.
That's not to say BMW won't do an M version... |
