I think it is just on or off. I know on the new 7 Series, you can adjust the volume of interior sounds and the dreaded BMW "gong", but I think alarm settings are on or off! Mine is faint too, but I like it. It drives me nuts when someone locks or unlocks their car, and the chirp is so loud, it makes me jump. BMW sound classy and clean!

Nope. the loudness is dreadful. Not sure if you can get another alarm horn, but my understanding is it is all in one unit.
