Full brightness Corona/Halo lights
Just wanted to know if any owners had experiences with the following... With the e70, DRL, Halo/parking lights, they are brighter, when low beam headlights areNT activated, but dim down, when the headlights (low beam) are activated.... has anyone attempted to alter this functionality, so that the halos operate at full brightness, even with low beams on....?? is there a part / fuse / Service computer setting that can be entered into the vehicles computer to override this.. A friend has an AUDI and throught their VAGCOM they can make the LED DRLs (like the the BMWs operation) change to overwrite this... Thanks....

Is there any particular reason you want them to be brighter?

Because they look proper S**te when dull, I've put some H8 xenon ones in and they look far better on the DRL mode, but even still they still look dull when on side light or dipped beam due to the drop in voltage.

Thats absolutely right, the H8 Corona rings look something else (special) when on as DRL..... there has got to be a setting or computer mode, which allows them to function at full brightness, with low beams at the same time,
I really dont like the dimmed look of the rings when low beam go on. I can only think that heat was the only other issue, that was BMW's concern when doing this. Anyway, if anyone has some valid info, much appreciated... |

I'm sure the voltage drop is the main reason for the look, but it could also be that you are looking at some bright azz xenon lights at the same time. That could make them appear even more dull. I personally like the different contrast between the rings and the xenons.......Phil
