Just my 2 cents, but the privacy glass really makes the X5 look hot, and much "sportier". Whenever I see an E70 without privacy glass, it looks plain, and a little "weak". It's also great for summer, as the E70 does NOT have thermal glass. Don't know why you don't like privacy glass, you can still see perfectly out, when in the vehicle!

Two thoughts. One,I would never let my two dogs(the only time they ride is to the vet) influence my decision on what vehicle I drive. Two,I would spend the money on the rear climate package just to get the privacy glass. It looks and functions great. Different strokes.......

How about keeping the both? X5 for daily driver, 6 for the weekend?

Thanks for your comments guys. I tried the X6 and am not really comfortable with the wayback for the dogs cause the roofline slopes too quickly for them to really be able to sit up. (I do think it is a handsome car though, and test-driving the 6 cylinder version was pretty neat. Can only imagine what the 8 would do.) The dogs are family- no kids, just dogs. Always have a pair of big ones- this is our second set and they go everywhere.

The privacy glass is just a personal thing- I really like the openness and airiness of the regular glass. Ditto for the black roofliner that comes with the sport package. I even prefer the chrome window/door surrounds to the shadowline trim. Go figure. Configured it the same way on my 2002 4.4 and was pleased with it.

As for keeping the 650, what likely will happen is this: if I get the X5 (the 650 will be traded), and the Volvo will also disappear and get replaced by something Prius-like. Again, not my choice, not my call.

Now the really surprising news: the X5 is supposed to be finished by this Friday! Looks like the timetable is going to work out.
