leak/trap doors

Ok, I have an 09 4.8i with about 1700 miles. Today I finally noticed that in my garage, there are some oil spots. I think the oil is either engine oil or power steering. Any one experience this type of leak? I can see the leak drops on the bottom of the under carriage. Wonder if the oil pan nut is not on tight. Bring it into the dealio but just wanted to see if any one out there have this issue before.

Also, what happend to the trap doors? I see openning now without trap doors. 2 to be exact. All my 3 series and e53 had them.

yeah there aren't trap doors anymore. the bolt with blue dot painted on is the drain bolt, is oil coming out from it? what's your oil level from idrive? when I DIY'ed my oil change on my 30i the drain bolt was very loose to begin with.

What does the fluid look like. I had a front diff leak (bad seal).

So I just crawled underneath and took a peek. I didn't see a plug with a blue dot on it since mine is a 4.8i so likely don't have that blue dot. But I am pretty sure it's the drain plug even without the blue dot.

What does the front differential oil color? This one is brownish clear like the synthetic. It sort of smells like engine oil as well.

Isn't the power steering oil color red?

I checked the oil dip stick on my 4.8i and it's a tad above min. Need to top it off.

damn that's not good. definitely bring it to dealer and have them do what's needed so it won't happen again.

The front diff oil was not dark. But to be honest, I didn't know what it was. I figured it was oil. My 4.8is had a leak due to a bad seal on the oil pan or something. My 4.8i has been a nightmare, but it is almost coming to an end . . . .

So, went to dealer, it's the front differential seal is bad. Darn!

Anyone know if re-alignment is necessary?
