voided warranty question?!

Hey all, I'd like to buy the new Pioneer portable nav unit and have it hardwired into the stock system just for power purposes....I know there is that sticker on the windshield when you buy the vehicle that says if you install aftermarker stuff, etc. that you can void the factory warranty...how picky is BMW on that disclaimer? Would they even question anything being that this is a portable unit and nothing had to be taken out or altered for it to work??
