Dynamic Sport Option

Does anyone know if driving most of the time in the automatic Dynamic Sport (DS) mode on my '08 X5 3.0si creates any longterm engine issues? I typically drive in DS vs. manual or D (Drive) due to the faster gear shifts and greater responsiveness.

Thank you!

I don't think you would hurt the engine unless you run the RPM's too high shifting manually. I also think you will burn more fuel in the sport mode.

I also drive in the same DS & Sport modes which is still automatic shifts (cant over rev) just with higher rev change points, funny enough I dont see a gerat deal of difference in the petrol consumption (bit more) but as you said more responsive, I have a MINI Coopers S with same situation and been driving in theses modes for 3 years no issues.
