Fender Flares on '08 X5 3.0si Non-sport?

I have a '08 X5 3.0si without the sport package. Currently I have 18" wheels, but, like all the other posts I've read here (I've read a TON of them!), I love the look of the 20" 214's. I also like the 19" 212's, although they're not quite as aggressive looking, still pretty cool though. My question is if I go with the 20" 214's, will fender flares fit on my 3.0si keeing in mind that I don't have the sport package option? I read on a post where one person metioned to use the fender flares, the X5 needed the sports package option. Like most probably, I haven't found the dealer part manager very knowledgeable.

Thanks!

You can replace the fender flares you currently have with the ones that come factory installed on a 4.8 E70 with the Sport Package and optional 20" 214 Wheels (note that these fender flares are only installed from the factory on a 4.8 E70 with Sport Package and the optional 20" 214 wheels). The reason most people replace the fender flares when upgrading to the 214 is because the 214 wheel is wider and the fender flares that come with 4.8 E70 with Sport Package and 20" 214 wheels have a slight lip to them making them wrap around the wheel, making the overall appearance of the E70 look nicer that the fender flares on your 3.0 E70 now, with no lip. You can order these from your dealer or online. Below are the part numbers to the 4.8 E70 with Sport Package and optional 20" 214 Wheels fender flares. I just purchased a set myself about a month ago from http://getbmwparts.com (Tischer BMW). These guys are really helpful and prompt to assist with any question you may have.

It's just that the fender flares can't be ordered with your dealer unless you get the sport option on a 4.8i. What a lot of people do on their own is order the flares and put them on on their own, it'll fit just fine on a 3.0si too.

So even if my '08 X5 3.0si doesn't have the sports package option, they'll still fit on it, no problem? Thanks so much for the fast response!

That is correct they will still fit on your '08 X5 3.0si without the sports package option! Are you planning in ordering the 214 wheels? If so are you looking at replicas or OEM?

As long as the replicas where as durable as OEM's, then probably the replica's as I know the OEM's can cost significantly more. I've read here and there on these posts though that the replicas might weigh more too, not sure if it's a big enough of a difference to really matter. Beyond this, I am still contemplating the 19" spoke 212's too. I definitely want to improve the look from my 18" spoke 210's and feel like both 212's and 214's would do the job. I live in Nebraska where we get some snow (4-5 snowfalls a year anywhere from 2-8 inches on avg), although not as much as the northern lakes regions. I'd prefer not to have to swap tires/wheels come winter, then spring since that could become a hassle. Thus, I'd like to settle on a set of tires/wheels and be able to keep them on year-round. If I had assurance that the 214's with all seasons would get me around for sure in the winter, then it would be a no-brainer decision, I'd get the 214's since they look the best. Plus, although they can ride like you're on a set of rolling-rocks sometimes, I do like the run-flats since you have the peace of mind in case of a flat. OK, too much rambling, but now you understand my reasoning.
