No Cruise Control ... by mistake?
Hi,
Last month I received my x5 3.0SD which by the way I am crazy about. The thing is that last week while I was on the highway driving around I couldn't find my cruise control button. I knew that all the European models had the Cruise Control as a standard. So I started suspecting that something was not right. At first I thought that I had made a mistake and probably that it was somewhere else and not on the left side of steering wheel which the manual said. After I called up my dealer and he confirmed that my car should have cruise control and that I should go by to check it out. When I arrived next day at my dealers he was speechless. He confirmed that my car has no cruise control. He blames BMW Germany for not having it installed and now he is waiting for their reply. How is it possible that BMW just forgot to install a cruise control that is considered as a standard in all European models? ( At least here in Greece all models have it as a standard). Of course he also took the blame for not seeing it but he said that «usually we do not check for standard things that are supposed to be there". Now my concern is if the car can have cruise control installed as an extra and if it’s worth doing so. Ofcourse I will not pay or in the worst case scenario I will get a refund. My Production date is May 08' if it helps. How would each of you react in such a stupid mistake?
Thanks,
