2008 E70 Xenon Lights

Picked my 2008 X5 (E70) yesterday. Still have my 2006 X5 (E53). Both have xenon adaptive headlights but the 2008 E70 light temperature is way off the chart... The lights look like old yellow halogen light compared to the 2006 (E53) headlight color (cars are side by side). Any idea what is going on. Thanks.

Sounds odd, I've no idea on temperature but my 2008 Xenons fire up light blue instantly and settle to a near white blue...no yellow.....

Are you talking about the daytime running lights? They aren't xenons...

Nope, just about the low beam headlights. I can see the difference very clear on my garage wall, cars side by side. I called the stealer and they do not have any idea either. By the way they asked me the same question about the daytime running lights, so I turned the DRL off, still yellow beam o the xenon low beam especially on the top edge of the light it is almost orange hint. Also when I said light temperature, I did not mean the real temp of the light as in degree F, I meant Kelvin degree that measures how whit is the light beam reflected on a surface, it is meaured in 7000K or 9000K and so on. Still have no answer.

I would take it in to the stealer, park it next to a car they have on the lot and compare the lights.

I'd like to see those pics too, because my lights look the same as well. From outside the car, they look fine, but from the drivers position, they don't seem to look right.

Exclamation

Have your changed the bulbs on the E53 to a higher temperature bulb?
The E70 is 4300K as it should be.
Do NOT get a higher colour temperature than 4300K as actually get LESS light!
Your also strain your eyes a lot more with the blueish light. Blue is not a color you want when driving at night.

HID bulbs are not in fact blue light, but white. The blue is a result of the lens system in the headlight, and is only cast in the very edge of the light cone.
This has resulted in the popular preception that HIDs are blue.

Take a drive at night with the E70 and see how they perform. Do not make up your mind from the preception based on false information.

.
Did not touch the bulbs on the E53, original from the manufacturer as the day I got the car delivered. I will try to take pics of both cars tonight.
