I'm always leery of buying an early production vehicle..........especially considering 2007 is the first model year of the X5, which tends to be glitchy.

The low miles means its either a lemon or company car. The price isn't amazing either.

well as for the price, i have been doing lots of research, and for a X5, 4.8i, 2007 with less than 10K miles, they run between $50k and $53k...

any thoughts?

How much should i offer for this vehicle?

I should request a CARFAX, i know, but is there anything ealse i should request?

thnx for the help guys

The dealer is thelling me that its a CPO... would that decrease the probability that this vehicle had something wrong with it??

Hey Christiaan,

There is a Carfax report on that website. It was bought at an auction in PA (supposedly sold by manufacturer --- which I would assume they mean BMW).

The price seems high. You need to see what other cars of that vintage are selling for --- it only has 2 years left of the 4 year warranty.

There is a "check control" icon displayed on the dash (in the photos) so there an check control message that needs to be looked too. It's probably minor but you would want to make sure.

As was said earlier, it's a VERY early production car. It was produced in first or second month of the new E70 model.

From the ad, I assume the selling Star is a BMW dealer and he, or another
BMW dlr had tossed on the "CPO" ext warranty for enticement, as the
oem warranty expires in a couple...it should not serve as any kind of
warning sign to you; it is an inducement to move the car in a very
slow mkt.

Not to nitpick, but the window control buttons "pod" looks like it has
never been wiped or cleaned in the car's life, imo. No biggie, but maybe
indicative of the "care" it had, and it's obvious that the stlr did nothing but
give the exterior a wash and slap on the "CPO" coverage, imo.

I agree with previous posters that the car is overpriced and has "floated"
around a bit...from reading your posts I offer this advice:
there are literally thousands of E70s for sale out in the mkt; probably
hundreds and hundreds in "your area", if you live in any good sized metro
area. I would rec'd you spend a few week nights/weekends going around
to BMW dealers and doing some hard looking, taking notes, etc.

Also, hit the BMW NA site for a list of used cars: pages of them.

Look at ebay, look on the net...look, take notes and compare.

You seem like you want to pull the trigger quickly...no need. This is
a buyer's mkt for this kind of car, imo. And, I would avoid putting
up a litany of "is this car a good deal" posts; there are many really
knowledegable car buying and selling people here, but that kind of
question post seldom elicits what is "good for you".
Good Luck,
mD

this is definitely a buyer's market and the car seems good but go for a really good price that you can be happy with.
