xDrive

We all know that the 3.0si and 4.8si change designations to xDrive30i and xDrive48i for the 2009 model year, but is there any other underlying changes to the xDrive system?

yeah, for the 08's and 09's the cornering breaks feature is improved and on the X6, torque is sent to the outside rear wheel when cornering.

There is a thread on xDrive improvement for the 08's in this forum. Try the search.

From what I heard, there is no upgrade or change to the xDrive system in the X5. No news on when the X6's updated xDrive is migrating to the X5. Maybe BMW will keep it exclusive to the X6 a little longer.

Right! but there is some improvement of the DSC system in the 08-on models (DSC works with Xdrive).

Take a look at this thread.

That thread is talking about the difference between the 07 and 08 models. I am looking for any differences between the 08 and 09 models.
Cheers

My point is 08 and 09s are the same but the name, but it is a better version of xdrive compared to the 07.

I mean who knows, i'm not the expert here- maybe BMW did make some other adjustments to the 09 lineup with the new names.
