Looking for Adaptive Drive and Steering on X5 diesel

Hi Everyone,

Long time looker...great site.

My wife and I are in the market and we are looking at the 2009-2011 diesels. I have a budget of around 45k (preferably less) so that is why we are looking into used. My wife and I have both driven x5s, but not diesel. We found we both like the adaptive drive and steering, but it is fairly confusing with the options. I've been trying to search and see if there are some hard and fast rules for what packages come with AD/AS but Im only confusing myself.

Anyway, if you guys could point me in a direction on what packages/options to look for in these various years to ensure we find an X5 with AD and AS that would be great. Thanks!

In 2009 it came with the Sport Package

In 2010+ the sport package was gutted to be only some appearance things, and the only way to get Adaptive Drive was option "2VA".

So for 2010 on, you must see 2VA as a code to have AD.

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
If you want adaptive steering as well, I think you need a 2012 model

So from 09-11 there was no AS on the diesels? One other question, is there a way to see options on a car (other than looking and driving) to make sure things like AD are there?

I'm in the market too, and have been using BMWVin.com to see how cars are optioned.
