Whistle Maximum weight allowed on the 4.8 is 1200 POUNDS, what happens if i go over????

hi guys, just wondering if anyone know what could really happen if i go over the listed 1200 pound limit of weight on the 4.8i....

Anyone have experience with this, or has heard if the 1200 limit is just a really low number to avoid law suits or something?

thanx guys.

A very large and angry German guy will come to your door in the middle of the night and interrogate you as to why you are abusing your BMW X5 that way!

Christiaan,
You're kidding, right?

That 1200 lbs is probably on the "safe side" via design...

My guess is one could put more than that 1200 lbs in an X, well distributed,
for a short duration...maybe even repeat that a couple/few times.

Continually being in excess of that will probably cause some accelerated and undue
wear on suspension, tires, trans, motor, brakes, etc.

Did any of these possiblities cross your mind before posting the question?

Must be that armored car thing...

You might want to consider a diet.
