Just to let you know, the E70 even with 3.0 is not any better on gas mileage specially on city driving. On hwy miles, I get about 22-24 which is pretty good.

As far as looks are concerned, no question, you made the right choice. Most members here would say that they are very happy with their X5.

I like the styling on the RR Sport, you can get it for about 60K also but with that you get a lot more problems.

Congrats, please post pics of the new ride.

You might want to check out the diesel X5 that will be out in Jan. You can place an order now.

Good luck,

Craig

I was going to suggest what Craig did. The diesel should be good but it will carry a $3000-$4000 premium over the gasoline engine.

The diesel X5 is economical but here are some facts:
1. X5 3.0 and 4.8 use Premium Gas which is approx. $.30 more than regular that Tahoe uses, so even though the consumption may be less, but the cost might come out to be higher
2. Diesel is about $.20 more than Premium Gas, so the economy factor works out to about $.05/mile, so if you drive about 12000 miles/year it will take you 5yrs to recoup the 3K premium on the diesels if not more, because they seem to be garnering a lot of attention.

My point is don't look at an X5 for economy sake, specially not when you have to plonk 60K when other SUVs can be had for 1/3rd the price. It's the drive feel and thrills that you get while driving it that out weighs any costs for me.

Good luck shopping, try the 08s you can probably get a screaming deal on one if you can find one with all the options you are looking for.

Welcome aboard
