Thumbs down Anyway to disable seat belt alarm on pass. seat?

Anyone know how to disable the seat belt alarm on the passenger seat? If I set my briefcase or my 26 lb. dog on the seat I have to fasten the seatbelt or the alarm continues to ring.

Not that I know of. Same problem here with my briefcase or laptop bag.

Mine came disabled. I actually want to enable it as some people sit there without the seatbelt on, but didn't figure out how. I will ask the dealer how to enable/disable it though.

Doesn't really answer your question, but I used to be SOO annoyed by it too. Now I just leave it buckled in all the time so it's "disabled"

Exactly. Just buckle it. No need to figure it out or buy anything.

i have not tried this on the 09 yet as i wont have mine for a few weeks but on my 06, if you place a magnet, we use the oness you can buy at the car wash as part of the attach your cell phone to the dashboard kit ($9) we stick it to the backside of the seatbelt receiver (where the buckle goes in) and it pulls the contacts together and turns off the alarm, at times the dash light for seat belt still comes on but no sound... aftera bout 2 years it started to beep again but a little silicon spray loosened the contact back up and allowed them to be pulled together again......

ihave one friend who tried it and it didnt work so he went to HD and got a really strong magnet and it solve the problem...

the sensor on my passenger side seat is ridiculous! the alarm goes off with something as light as a bottle of water. the other day, i had 2 dvd's on the seat and it started to go off. it's driving me nuts. can i bring my car in to bmw to have them adjust this sensor or will the technique above using magnets work?
