the new X5 have a secret menu and it is not like the the old models
i tried this
- choose main menu i-drive
- hold controller about 15 sec and than remove
- Turn the controller at 3 clicks on the right [rotate clockwise 3 clicks]
- Turn the controller at 3 clicks on the left [rotate anti-clockwise 3 clicks]
- Turn the controller at 1 click on the right [rotate clockwise 1 click]
- Turn the controller at 1 click on the left [rotate anti-clockwise 1 click]
- Turn the controller at 1 click on the right [rotate clockwise 1 click]
- Press the controller
then you got diagnosis menu
but you cant change anything from it
this menu is only for information

The BMW SIB is similar to jack5's method to access the service menu.

See this document. You are following the instructions for the MOST bus, near the end of the document.

I haven't tried it myself yet on my E60 but may get time later today.

Good luck.

Jeff
