i asked the question because someone is trying to sell me the Aerokit USED, and states that it has an opening for the hitch...

heres a pic... not sure if this is a scam!!

They all have the opening for the hitch.. seem legit.

yep, the info posted above is correct. I have the same setup (aero kit + trailer hitch)
