AC Heater blows cold air

Have you folks experienced any issues with the AC Heater? Yesterday I noticed that the AC was blowing cold air in automatic mode when interior temp. was set at 72 deg while the outside was 48-55 deg. I had a similar problem with my 3 series the AC never seemed to work properly, on very hot days the cooling would not work and on cold days heating would not work.

Have you gone in to iDrive > Climate > Automatic Program and set the "color bars" to red? During the winter, I've kept it on the Soft automatic setting and I vary the "color bars" depending on the outside weather. This is all done in tandem with the temperature settings.

This climate system is way too overengineered and not obvious for most.

For your summer woes, hitting the Auto button more than once will cycle through Soft, Medium and Intensive settings.

Yup, too complicated... having to switch blue vs. red is not the way it should work when you have temperature settings. Plus the heat isn't all that strong even if you focus it to the center on either side. Another area they could improve on.
