Just purchased a 2009 BMW X5 4.8i!

Hi~ This was the forum I browsed alot actually before buying this new X5, and I have gained many valuable knowledge about the car which allowed me to make this final decision!

I was hesitating between the X5 4.8i or the MB ML63 AMG, but at the end chose the bimmer due to its outstanding handling and lower price. And of course, I have always been a BMW fan :P (BMW 530i owner)

I will post some photos up soon when I get the car It's Alpine white & Black Nevada interior with Premium and Sports packages, also the BMW Portable Navigation.

I have a few questions about the car tho, first of all anybody knows the all-season tire information under the Sports package? Or different dealer provides different tire brands? And what exactly is Ambient Light Package under the Premium Package? Finally what is the maximum distance for Comfort Access to work?

if they follow the last 2 years, the upgraded sport 20s will come with summer-performance tires only, not all-seasons. I'm not sure what the regular 19s come with, but I doubt they are all-seasons either.

And someone has to say it... you should change your username now...

is that your Ferrari? anyway, welcome to the forum. Hope you'll enjoy the 4.8i

you know, I haven't heard of "portable navigation" from BMW, could you tell me what that is?

For sports package, the 19" wheels come standard with all season tires, the 20" only come with summer only tires. There are after market all season tires available in the same sizes.

Ambient light package is probably the exterior lights around the bottoms of the handles and the interior LED lights just under the door handles on the inside.

I have had comfort access (CS) work up to 2 feet away from the car but not much further.

My car has the sport package with 19" all season Michelin tires. I have seen another with sport package will all season Bridgestone tires.

Congratulations!

I'm coming off-lease on my E53 and am cross shopping the E70 and the ML63 as well.

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of $ off MSRP were you able to negotiate? (PM me if you'd prefer).

Congrats.. If I stay with BMW, that's the color I'll go with as well.

(I just wish the Nav/iDrive were updated and that the trailer hitch didn't look like an 9th grader installed it).

Woot thx all for the welcomes.

I was going over the Inspection Checklist on delivery day xoutpost.com provided and I think its definitely an over-kill in some categories but helpful indeed

Newayz, to y5choi, you can find info about BMW portable navigation here.

Reasons I like it its mainly because its mounted right into the cabin and it has bluetooth, mp3 player, a SD memory card slot and USB port! I hate the traditional GPS where you have to stick the thing onto your window lol.

And to HIRISC I will pm you the final MSRP
