I got it at South Bay BMW along with my car. The installed price was $175 . I am not sure if the glues are included. My CA just told me that it will be install at a bodyshop along with my aero kit. I like the trims myself, it gives a nice accent to the X5. Now I just need the carbon fiber plate frame to finish it off.

Thanks. The plate frame is a great idea. I'm looking into this for my X.

So is the carbon fiber door pillar accents sold by BMW are simply and overlay? Not an actual replacement of the shadowline trim?

It does look nice. Considering this upgrade for my X5. Shadowline trim is hard to take care of.

I've seen this on eBay for around $75 shipped. Just an overlay applied with 3M double sided tape.

I really would like to install these on our new X5, since we don't have shadowline trim.

I've never been a fan of the faux carbon fiber look, but I've seen an X5 with these on and if you're into that sort of thing, it looked to be a high quality and well-executed appearance mod.

Shucks. I'm not into overlays. But do like the carbon look.

I have the oem on my 53 and luv it. Does not look cheap by any means. My wife liked it so much that she wanted it on the 70. I can't speak for the non-oem ones off ebay. So far no regrets and and pillars are so easy to clean.

I noticed that on some sites it states "set of six" but I would think you would get 8 total , 4 each side for all the vertical window strips ? Anyone able to confirm...?

Most eBay kits are 8 pieces. Check the listing before purchasing.

The OEM ones say set of six... I'll only buy OEM if I get them...
