Anybody know where lighter fuse is?

Can anyone tell me where the fuse to the cigarette lighter is on the 07 X5? The ipod charger I bought blew out the fuse for the lighter socket in the console box as well as the one on the dash. I looked at the fuse block in the back but don't see any blown fuses. Is there one under the dash somewhere? Do I have to remove any panels to get to them?

Your manual shows you 2 locations for the fuse boxes. One is in the front passenger footwell on the underside of the instrument panel. The second is in the cargo bay by rear gate (open the right hand side panel in the cargo bay). Don't know exactly where the fuse is for the lighter, but this is a start.......

Your do have to unscrew screws to locate the fuse box in passenger footwell. The manual shows photos.

You must have a different manual than I do. The only mention of fuses is on page 234. I checked the ones in the back but no blown fuses. Must be the one in front. Thanks.

Removed panel in front footwell and it's not there either.

You're right. I have the 2008/09 manual. Sorry
