2500 RPM Vibration/Growl Normal?

When I hit 2500 RPM on my 3.0 (around 70 MPH) the "growl" of the exhaust gets louder and the steering wheel/gas pedal have a slight vibration to them. It's loud enough to notice the difference -- quieter and smooth at 2000 RPM.

Is this normal? I had been driving a 328i loaner for a week while my fuel pump was being replaced and I notice the noise/vibration even more now.

My X is going back in, they fixed the fuel pump but now the fuel gauge isn't working right.

any vibration in the pedal is not normal... it should be completely smooth. They need to get it right.

Could be power steering. I know it sounds dumb, but I had something like this, only noticed on freeway, took it in,they fixed it under warranty, and it was steering related.
