SatVan DVD making odd noises - is it normal?

Sitting in the car after the engine is off and the key is out. The SatNav dvd is making a noise as if it is trying to read the disk. Not sure why it is trying to read the disk when the car is not running.

Is this normal behaviour?
Do I need to take the disk out?
Does it stop after a while?

It must be using the battery. Don't want a flat battery if the car has been sitting for a few days.

This is normal (At least in my experience!) it goes for a short time and then the car shuts down completely about 20 mins later. I've never had the battery problem.

Make sure you lock your car. For those that leave their car unlocked in the garage, I think there are a few things that don't shut down immediately, the DVD Sat being one of them.

Will remember that. Thanks. Our car is parked outside so normally locked but will make sure now that it always is.
