Dealer Recommendation for Chicago/Champaign area

Hi all,

I am in the market for a new X5 4.8. Which dealer would you recommend in the Chicago or Champaign, IL area? What prices are people getting MSRP for X5 4.8 these days?

Thanks in advance.

while i am not familiar with your area, when i purchased my 2008 i went to www.edmunds.com for pricing. i requested more info and was referred to a local dealer. i have used both local dealers for service since. the dealer i did not purchase from seems to be more service oriented oddly enough.

I went to Undergrad in Champaign (91 - 95), I believe there is only one BMW dealer in Savoy on Neil Street, Twin City BMW and Honda. They were the only player in town. No competition, I think you'll get better pricing in Chicago.

I have heard some very bad stories about Perillo BMW, but no personal experience. One person said the Service Manager crumpled up the bill and threw it at him during a discussion/argument about warranty service.

I bought a Z4 from Motorwerks and was quite pleased with the price and service. Motorwerks is a big place, so the service is rather impersonal, but they always seemed to do a reasonable job. It is rare to get a BMW loaner from them, as they have an Enterprise on site and use it for most loaners. Once I got a full-size Dodge pick-up for a loaner! (The enterprise guy said it was their last vehicle, but if I wanted to wait 30 minutes, he could get a car from the dealership next door. I took the pickup rather than wait).

No dealer is complaint-free, as there are some unreasonable people out there. But if you do a web search using the dealer name and the word "complaint," you can sometimes see a pattern.
