2008 CPO 3.0si

Hi guys, I am currently in the market for a new car.

Narrowing down the list, the new 2010 Lexus RX350 and Q5 are at the top of the list but we are also considering a used 08 X5 should the price be what we are looking for. We would be looking for a very minimally packaged X5.

Here are two that we are looking at

Chapman BMW Scottsdale your Arizona BMW Dealer | Phoenix BMW - 2008 BMW X5 3.0i

Chapman BMW Scottsdale your Arizona BMW Dealer | Phoenix BMW - 2008 BMW X5 3.0i

How much room do we have to negotiate. What should we offer and what are good prices.

Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you looking for a used 3.0si, only I want mine fully loaded. I've been looking out of state and negotiating over the phone. Since it's nearly the end of the month, I've gotten anywhere from 1,500-2,500 off price.

I would start by asking for 2000 under and seeing where it takes you. Also, try to get it done before the end of the month, since March looks like another bad sales month.

I can't comment on the Q5 other than I like the styling. My wife has a 2008 RX350 and I like that styling better than the new styling. It's as though they tried to make the new one look more aggressive with those lines. Believe me, if the 2010 is anything like the 2008, it a cushy ride, but man it drives like a boat!

Good luck!

What options are on those? I can never tell from a typical used car ad.

According to the bmwusa cpo website, the options for both are

#1
Installed Options
Premium Package
Rear Climate Package
Technology Package
Automatic tailgate operation
Dark Bamboo wood trim
Panoramic moonroof

#2
Premium Package
Rear Climate Package
Automatic tailgate operation
Comfort Access system
Dark Burl Walnut wood trim
Panoramic moonroof
iPod and USB adapter
Satellite radio w/1 year sub.

Looks like #1 is the better of the two due to mileage and navigation. Both are priced at 43,981, is there room to negotiate down? (How much?)

Bump, extra help would be appreciated. Is 2000 under list price the best I can hope for?

It all depends on the dealership. That's why I would find as many as possible in your area and find similarly loaded vehicles, get price quotes, and have them battle it out for your business.

$2000 under was simply had just by asking. I didn't even let them know I had another X5 lined up somewhere else. I'm sure if you tell the stealership that another one is quoting you less, they will try hard to compete with them.

Just be patient, used X5's are especially hard to bargain with since in this market, used cars are king.
