Cannot figure out base price for 2009 X5 4.8
I've agreed to purchase a 2009 X5 4.8i from my dealer at $1,000 over cost. The Finance manager has an internal report he has given me that shows his base price for the car at $51,705. But everything that I have seen shows a base of $51,335. The total wholesale options is $15,190 for a net total of $66,895. Then he has $825 destination, $300 MACO and $180 Training Fee for a grand wholesale total of $68,200. So, what gives? I don't understand how he gets $51,705 for a base wholesale price. Is he fabricating / inflating the base price? Anyone else buying a 4.8 right now know what they are paying in comparison?

I show invoice at 51,335.00
I paid training, but not MACO. I think prices did increase after the first of the year, but not for the diesel. So the dealer might be right on his price. Ask him to show you the invoice. Craig |
