They have only done minor changes, Metalic paint has gone from $1800 to $2k. A couple other options have gone up $50 and one or two have gone up $150.

My X5 has increased by about $320, they have droped the Business grade Nav/phone to the normal one, as no one in Australia was using the SOS thing or the BMW Assist, you still get all the rest, voice command etc. Some of the interior trims can now be chosen at no extra cost. I see now they give you an option of actual tinted glass for the back doors and rear hatch glass, the front doors & windscreen still stay clear, maks the X5 look like a Limo!

Not sure if the previous X5 with the 3rd row of seats had the extra vents at the back as standard with standard airconditioning to those 3rd row seats. I never checked mine but now instead of getting the rear aircon option for the 3rd row they now add these extra vents back there as standard when you get the 3rd row. Next time I am at the dealer I will check that!

We may get the extra buttons around the iDrive controller knob but not the new iDrive itself, that will be Sept/Oct production. Its rummored that by the end of the year we will also have a X5 that will do under 7 ltr per 100klm here in Australia, that would be the diesel Hybrid (4 cyl) X5 with the electric motor in the transmission! They say it has over 500nm of torque which puts it in the current 3.0d X5 diesel range!

Considering the Aus dollar is down from $0.90 in June 08 to $0.63 now. Its a wonder the X5 had not gone up in price by $10k, it was bad enough the LCT went up adding $6k in July 08.

There is supposed to be an extra 10kw of power with the 35d also, I see our diesel as of Jan 09 is now 5ppm of sulphur down from 10ppm, that might be the reason. Our diesel X5's were always detuned compared to Europe because of our poor grade of diesel and sub-tropical climate!
(580nm compared to Europe 600nm)

Anyway my order is locked in now and I cannot make anymore changes, looks like first week of April production, will know soon!

I disagree, I ran my "test CD" on the standard and premium radios. Although I could tell the difference, it was, by no means, worth the price differential between the two. To your point, the Mark Levinson systems in the Lexus rocks and pretty much blows any "premium" system I've come across any other manufacturer....

I am just wondering do you get the same range of sound systems in the States as we do here in Australia.

We have a choice of a Standard System (6 Speakers) a Hi Fi 12 speaker system and Hi Fi Professional 16 speaker Logic 7?
