2009 X5 3.0 Loaner with 9K mi. - Good deal, Bad deal?

I'm trying to buy a loaner vehicle. It's a 2009 X5 3.0 with 9,000-miles on it, with an in service date of 10/31/09 -- it is NOT certified and is being sold as new with the standard BMW factory warranty. The MSRP is 56,575 ... they are telling me not to waste their time, their bottom line figure is a purchase price of 49,500 (7,075 off MSRP). That seems like a lousy deal, but I have nothing tangible to base that on. They are telling me I should be happy to get the 2.9% APR, and that it's as good as it's going to get.

The vehicle is 100% the way I want it. It's in excellent shape, drives great. I can't see getting a "near" new X5 configured this way much cheaper.

Any opinions on whether or not I'm getting a fair deal here?

No arm wrestle here but if they already told you "not to waste their time, their bottom line figure is a purchase price of 49,500 7,075 off MSRP" and if The vehicle is 100% the way you want it. It's in excellent shape, drives great. and you can't see getting a "near" new X5 configured this way much cheaper then it sounds like you have your mind made up.

I don't have the complete list handy, but the key items include the Premium and Technology package, along with the privacy glass and heated seats option deals. Ummm... Sorry I can't list much more than that offhand. The only thing it doesn't have that I want to add is Sat radio.

The only slight downside I see is that you have given up 9K miles and 6 months of your warranty, when you drive off in that "new" car...
and, as a loaner, your standard cowboy/soccermom may not have treated it like "theirs", in the initial mileage.

Otoh, as posted above, if you like it, it's your choice. Price seems Ok, but WTFDIK, but the dlr's 'tude is fairly stern, imo.

Yeah it's whether you feel comfortable with it being a loaner. I know when I was at the dealer when the X6's came out my sales guy took me for a ride in an X6 3.5--he drove that thing like he was on the autobahn and took corners while the tires were screeching--you could smell the tire rubber burning when we got out

. But an X5 3.0 loaner probably wasn't driven too hard. I say go for it.

Personal opinion.. don't let the dealer make you think that's the lowest they're going to go and that you're getting a good deal. "Not to waste their time... as good as it's going to get..." all sounds like bullshit to me. tell them not to waste your time, i think 7k off MSRP sucks. I got 6k off MSRP back in Nov '07 for an '07 model on a 4.8.

9K miles is too much for only getting 7K off, that's pretty much how much the car has depreciated to. If you were getting it CPO with 100k warranty and 2.9% then it would probably be more worthwhile since the extra warranty costs $3K+.

Plus the car has been driven by hundreds of people, who everyone of them probably treat it like shit and put in 86 octane fuel. Tell them that and ask for 9K off with 100k warranty
