Tailgate question on 2007 X5 3.0 si
I have read some X5 owners posts re: tailgate problems (specifically trunk won't open). But my problem is opposite, it won't stay open. It seems like a vacuum or something holding up the liftgate is not working as the gate won't hold open, so i need to hold the gate with my one hand while trying to put something in the trunk. Anyone has the same problemo? BTW, it happened suddenly, nothing that I know I did with the trunk or what. I wasn't able to use the SAV for a week when I went into vacation out of state.

Looks like your gas tubes are gone, the dealer will probably have to replace them under warranty.

Yes, there's been one or two reports here of 2007 E70's that have this tailgate gas/vacuum tube problem. Should be a standard warranty fix.
