Also no where in a bmw x5 manual does it say that the car as it is is not fit for purpose, even though it states towing weights. Any body else had a similar experience.........

BMW price for Westfalia standard detachable bar is £285 plus electrics that are now £185 for self fitting, its easy as pie, just the coding of the electrics which is just the car sitting on the computer, i was going to twist their arm if i bought the bar off the dealer. Think the quoted £750 fitted 2 weeks ago.
The fan job is only if you are towing something heavy, i think he quoted £85 for the fan, but it is only needed if you are towing a caravan, heavy car etc. I think your dealer is a trying it on. The one thing i was told was that the electrics kit was on "back order" but if you look on e bay someone was selling the ome Westfalia bar and bypass relay electrics for £300 all in. DC |
