how to remove kidney grille?

I just gave it a try but not success. If anyone done it, how did you remove it? Did you need to remove the outter chrome trim first?

Thanks.

you could remove the outer first, or you can remove it all together. i recommend just doing it all at once.

you just have to try popping out the clips from either the top or the bottom first (can't do it all at the same time), then go on to pop out the clips from the left and right. after doing all this, then you should have much easier time of taking out the last side. use a screwdriver to pop out the clips, but be careful because they break rather easily.

also... you are much better off doing this with a 2nd person

I think I already broke one clip from the top last night and that's why I want to check with you guys first. The top clips is made of very soft plastic. I found a picture from here but it is E53 and you can see I circle in red. On E70 there are many of these exact same clips between the grille and body metal. Are these the clips needed to be pop out for removing the kindey grille or others?

Thanks.

Use a flat head screw driver to slowly bend the clips inward.
I did this a few months back when I swapped my grill out.
This will pop the entire grill out.
Once you do one the second is very easy.
