will let you know what I find in regards to software modification for x35d.
Anybody getting a hitch installed needs to make sure you have them update the light module for your trailer lights to work correctly.

I plan on towing with my 35d. What do you mean by "update the light module?"

the factory hitch and light assembly from bmw needs to activated by software download from dealer or it will post an error message in vehicle
