Hit from behind on the freeway--Pics

My wife was hit from behind a month ago on the freeway in Sothern Cal. The damage looked light and first estimates came back at $3000 for new bumper and exhaust. After being taken apart, the back cross section was slighlty dented. We opted for replacement rather than repair. The car has been in the shop for three weeks....get it back today. I have attached pics of the process. They had to take all of the wheels, suspension, and front bumper off to put it on the jacks to ensure everything was correct. Painful to look at it apart. Yes...I used a certified BMW collision center. The price tag at the end was almost $11K.

Smile

The initial damage looked slight. three medium size gouges in the bumper, left bumper reflector was missing and scratches to the chrome of the left exhaust pipe. It really did not look bad and was completely driveable.
The car was at the BMW dealership all day yesterday getting the computer restarted, alignment, brakes and suspension check and complete diognostic.
Can't wait to get it back. I will post a picture of the new and improved version ( I hope it is).

Wife and son are great. They said they barely felt the impact. The nissan had a crumpled hood and airbag deployment.

Good point. My guess is - it is not leased. He won't go through all these if it is "just" leased.
