Exclamation Lights upgrade problem ? Can somebody help please

I have read most if not all of the treads regarding light upgrades on an E70 X5 and looked at the help pages also but to no avail.

Sorry guys but I am having a problem understanding the light fittings etc on my 2008 X5 3.0sd and I am trying to upgrade the HALOGEN bulbs. My vehicle does not have xenon's fitted and so I am upgrading the standard fitted halogen bulbs up to the Mtec 4750k White Light type.

Here is what I don't understand, The main high-beam headlight bulb (thats the light closest to the radiator grill) is an H1 bulb, yet my manual tells me that its, an H7? I have taken the original bulb out and its definately an H1 so I have replaced it with an upgraded H1 bulb it only took 15 mins (so is the F***ing manual telling me lies or what that this is an H7?

My manual also tells me that there is another halogen bulb fitted in the same area or next to the high-beam and that its called a Side and parking lights, daytime running light and that this bulb is an H8. The manual shows a crappy description of were its supposed to be located. The problem is that I cant find or locate this bulb. I have had a good look and shone a torch in there and had a feel around and even put a mirror in the place to see if its hidden away in a corner etc and I just cant see this H8 bulb anywere??

I have found were the Low-beam light H7 bulb is located in the next main light across but this seems to be virtualy imposible to change as this is the light that is situated next to the indicator or turn signal light. I dont know how BMW would reasonably expect a normal person to be able to change this bulb without taking the hole of the light fitting out of the front wing, so this bulb is causing a big problem as well.

I have relaced the H11 Fog light bulbs with no problems and only took 10 mins.

Has anyone with that has standard Halogen bulbs fitted changed any of these, if so can you give me any information or help as to how its done please, any help would be appreciated.
