Any issues to add a receiver hitch to a leased X5?

Hello Friends,

I am finally getting around to retiring my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (2WD haha) that I've been driving since college. Got the wife's approval after she was driving home from work on I-680 one day and the fuel pump died...

Anyways, I think I have settled on leasing a 2010 X5 (waiting for the new iDrive...). Will there be any issue for me to have the OEM receiver hitch installed by the dealer on a leased car?

The threads I've searched seem to indicate that this is not a trivial install, as it might involve cutting holes in the bumper or replacing the entire bumper, etc.

I figure they should be OK with this, but since this is the first time I'll be leasing a car, I wanted to see what sort of restrictions I'm facing on modifying the car. I don't plan to modify it in any other way.

If they don't cut too much of the bumper, maybe you can undo it if you turn the car back in.

If you plan to keep it, then I wouldn't worry about adding the hitch.

They should have added it anyway. It's a dang SUV!!!!

Yea that is what is annoying. The BMW web site doesn't seem to say much about it at all. Also given the discussion that people have had here about getting it installed (wiring issues, etc), I figured I'd ask the more knowledgeable enthusiasts here.
