Question for those of you riding on 22's...

What are the recommended sizes for the tires? My tire shop says 335/25/22 rears to keep the same overall height as the 20" OEM. Is this right?? That's got to be like riding in a wheelbarrow!

Anyone who has 22's installed, can you share your experiences? Is it a pretty stiff ride? What tire sizes did you go with? And any pics?? Thx!

Ive got 22"s and the tires are 265/35/R22 Nexens. The ride is stiff but my tires are not the most expensive out there. The rubber is pretty hard for long lasting. But I believe any 22" rim and tire is going to be a ruff ride. The profile pic is the best pic I have. It raised the height of the car a little but looks great.

perfect combination would be fr 275/35/22 rr 315/30/22 but those tyre size are very hard to get under the same manufactuer i notice a very minimal difference in ride comfort ,they dont have to be the same ride height as the oem as long as ride height is the same front and back

Continentals here...

295/30/22 and 325/25/22 were the recommended size change to keep rolling diameter the same. They are quieter than the 20" RF Dunlops, and supposedly than the Pirelli option we were given. Tough to tell how much "harder: the ride is as this SAV was also dropped, and is much tighter than a stock suspension and 20" wheels.

Sorry about that, these are Continentals Cross Contact UHP, not Dunlops...I edited myself as i was posting and took out that small tidbit of information. Even though I edited I still screwed up, they are 335/25/22...pays to re-read your posts!!!

Here's a quick picture of the Conti tread pattern....smaller blocks, less noise.

Can you recommend a source for the Continentals? I even tried TireRack and I think all they had in that 335/25/22 size were Yokohama's.

These came through GGI European Tuning (www.ggituning.com). Ralph at the Miami store sold my buddy all his Hartge goodies, tires, installation and all. I don't know if they'll sell just the rubber, but the Maimi store was also a huge tire distributor, worth a try..or on Continentals website maybe they can direct you to someone reasonable...either that or buy a new copy of European Car and see whose advertising wholesale tire sales..

I'm running the Falken F452 295/30/20 all the way around since I want to be able to rotate my tires. On my E53 I had problems with too much camber in the back, so this time around I wanted to make sure I had the option of changing them around.

These have the same OD as the factory and I don't really feel much difference in the ride. But keep in mind, my car is lowered as well.
