got in the car last night to run to the store...SAT radio on, all good...pick up some groceries, get back in the car and when I re-started, the radio was only playing in the rear speakers....tried CD, SAT, iPod, everything was only in the rear...looked at settings and fader was centered..everything looked normal but sound only came out of the rear speakers - system is in surround mode and when I say rear, maybe I was getting a little out of the rear doors, but most was coming out of the rear surround speakers..I could barely hear anything other than a lot of bass.

Today start the car.....back to normal...

Anybody else have this happen????

Was it particularly hot in the car? BMW Amplifiers have had issues with hot climate. That might be it. Keep a eye (or ear) on it .. and if it returns, I would take it in. It might have logged a error in the system.

It was 94 outside and clearly over 100 inside when i first got it, but i drove 5-6 miles and the car cooled down (and everything was OK). Car sat in the shade for 10 minutes, wasn't as hot when i got back in it and that's when the only things working were rear surround speakers and the sub....anybody know how many amps there are and which power what???

Just very strange as the car has been hotter and i've never had a prob before...

We'll just keep and eye and see what goes on.
