that reading takes the avg of your last 20mi. driven so it really depends. I've driven a mile or so on local roads after it stated 0mi. range with no problems but I wasn't going to risk it any further than I already had.

I was told by other BMW owners that when it hits 0, it is zero..... unlike other manufacturers...

Fwiw, I have staggered in to a station at "10" a couple of times and,
several high teens...all on road trips, steady throttle and pushing to the "next exit for gas". This is on an '01 E53. I never had the ballz or situ to run it down to single digits. GL,mD
