Running out of fuel

Just wandering how many miles/kilometers you can drive after it shows "0" to empty tank.
Just in case anyone knows.

depends completely on how you drive.

that reading takes the avg of your last 20mi. driven so it really depends. I've driven a mile or so on local roads after it stated 0mi. range with no problems but I wasn't going to risk it any further than I already had.

In the manual it says the tank is 22.5 gallons with the reserve capacity of 2.6 galons and since I always full the tank abt 22 gallons, I reckon I can still go.

Well, I will try it tomorrow because I realized that I have 3 miles to go and the closest gas station is 15 miles away.

Fwiw, I have staggered in to a station at "10" a couple of times and,
several high teens...all on road trips, steady throttle and pushing to
the "next exit for gas". This is on an '01 E53. I never had the ballz or
situ to run it down to single digits.

I made it. Driving it gently for 15 miles. The computer was changing from 1 to 4 on the way and when I pulled into the gas station ended up with 0.7 miles to go (or 1 km on my computer).
I filled the tank to 23 gallons (86.5 Liters).

Don't push it!

Went from an Acura to my X5. Two weeks in ran out of gas right at the exit. First time that has happened since my 68 mustang in HS.

what happens? Ignition off and you just roll? What about electrical power or brake power?
