Buying 2009 X5 through Overstock?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new X5 (3.0i), and the price I found on overstock.com seems to be pretty decent. In fact, for zip code 20008, its basic price is only 500 above the invoice price. The total with the option below comes up to be $49,195.

3RD ROW SEAT (4UB)

IPOD & USB ADAPTER (6FL)

PARK DISTANCE CONTROL W/GRAPHIC DISPLAY (508)

REAR CLIMATE PKG (ZRC)

RUNNING BOARDS (328)

I compared the number with AMX, it's actually cheaper. I'm wondering if anyone ever purchased car through overstock, and if $49,195 is a good price for the options I’m getting. I’m at the east coast and willing to travel to NY, NJ & CT. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Derek

You might want to consider a 3.5d with the$4500 Eco Credit. I struck a deal at invoice + $500 -$4500 credit so basically $4000 under invoice.

Interesting. The only review I recall having seen that was even mildly negative was the USAToday one.

The biggest complaint I saw was that it was overpriced, but with the eco credit and tax credit, the diesel is actually $2,600 cheaper than the 3.0

Paying an extra $2,600 to get the 3.0 gasoline engine seems a bit excessive from my point of view. But there are advantages to gasoline, particularly the ready availability.

I agree. The efficiency and performance of the diesel made it my next step from my 2005 4.8iS. The eco/tax savings made me do it now. Good news is all I've been hearing...

The 3.0 is a fine car too though.

So far, so good for mine. Took delivery back in January. Don't know what you've read, but every review I've read about the diesel has been positive. Including my own experience...

35d is good but I'd wait for the petrol twin turbo I6 if I had a choice.

That has a reasonable chance of being in the March 2010 launch of the 2011 X5, IMHO.
