Yes, you can swap the rear bumper with the addition of a few other small parts. The question is why would you want to?

I personally dislike the sea of black plastic that is currently the rear bumper. If I wanted an Avalanche I would have bought that instead!
Also, after searching for information on the subject I also discovered my clips are broken on the top as mentioned in other posts. Now that I messed with it the bumper gets caught on the tailgate.

Yes, i can be done. You need a new rear bumper cover, and a few extra parts to attach to the bumper. Body shop need to remove the rear fenders, just above the bumper cover, no need for new connectors, or wiring hardness. This is the link, these guys have the lowest prices.
