earlier e70 six cylinder don't have chrome tips?

i have noticed this and took pics. my 2009 30i (3.0si) has chrome tips but looks like the other earlier e70s don't...?

That's the BMW way, 2007's did not come with Chrome tips, my 2008 did. I could live without the chrome tips (easier/cheaper to add on later) but for 2009 they added the automatic tail gate to the premium package, which is a rip-off for earlier buyers

yeah paid $500 for the auto tailgate - just something I had to have in a premium vehicle. For '08 though they added panoramic roof for everyone though instead of putting it in the premium package. The chrome tips were a nice addition too.

I hate that they add things little by little. I would hate to get half an idrive upgrade now (the controller) and then miss the faster harddrive upgrade & high res screen with it just a few months later.

the auto tailgate and new idrive i can understand because they need to do testing before offering it. but chrome tips are such a simple addon a monkey could do it.

I could understand that too if it was not available as an option on the 2007 and 2008's. I haven't seen a 2007 X without the pano roof, everyone paid extra for that.

btw the after market tips for the 2007 are much better than the chrome welded tips that the later models came with IMO. The 2007 ones are bolt on and can be swivelled or lengthened to your liking (and of course painted easily if that is your liking)..I'm going Oval anyway so I'll be taking mine off soon ...
