Voice Control

Hi there my x5 in fitted with media pack but was wondering why the voice button on the steeriong wheel doesnt work is this an extra the phone button works to answer and end calls but the other button does nothing
Can someone advise please?

Hi beefer9hb, does an icon come up on the LCD screen when you push the button? It could be that your volume is set to zero for voice commands.

When you push the voice command button, try to increase the volume immediately after. You will only have 1 to 2 seconds to do this after pushing the button.

You can try saying "help" and see what the response is as to the commands it should recognize. Mine will only accept phone commands??? It doesn't recognize any Nav commands. I wish I knew why.

I think in the UK the voice option might be a separate feature and cost, although suprised its not bundled with your "media pack". Just call up the dealer in the UK, I'm sure they will be able to clarify things.

Voice control is not part of the Media Pack - costs an extra £250 and has to be separately specified. It is also not retrofittable - I've checked with BMW uk - there is no retrofit kit.

The extra button on the steering wheel does absolutely nothing!
