think people throwing money at the cash for clunkers program has anything to do with it also? I was a stone's throw away from buying an Odyssey through the program... damn people couldn't even give me invoice.

These figures don't talk about the facts that the production levels are also down. Last year at this time there was a lot of inventory as the car makers didn't anticipate the drastic drop in demand and they increased incentives to move vehicles, sometimes even selling at just break even or a loss. This year production levels are way down, inventories are down as well and though there are still incentives out there to stem a further drop in demand they are probably not as good as last year.

BMW needs to revise their allocations. There aren't enough X5 3.0si (xDrive35d) allocation spots for the US, as it seems like most dealers can't even keep any on their lot, much less order them for customers.

Not surprising; most people aren't rushing to any brand dlr to drop $25Gs-$80Gs+
for a new car. It may come back to something near normal over the next couple
three years, (North America version), but I would bet the 16 million unit sales
years are history, for the forseeable future.
