NAV TV Vehicledock ...

... anybody install and/or have any experience with this? Why would the BMW dealer installed IPOD adaptor be preffered over this?

This allows for Video as well on the IPOD into the I Drive screen. BMW adaptor obviously does not. And, with the interface (like the 56 CAN) it can be controlled thru the I-drive and steering wheel controls.

Thoughts/experiences?

Thanks.

WOW - I would really, really like to hear about this "nav hack" is this is possible. We just ordered a 35d and didn't have tech package but I would do this if this is possible.

See:

NAV-TV Corporation: VehicleDock

Also, on that page you can download the manual for more info.

If you also purchase an additional interface (like the BMW56CAN, which I picked up from TVNAv2GO here:

Mobile video mobile tv mobile video system mobile satellite tv mobile video systems nav tv car tv dvd car video car dvd car tv car video system car satellite tv video interface car navigation system car video navigation car navigation gps car tv scre

(tho you can also purchase it thru NAV-TV). This interface will allow for comtrol thru I-Drive and steering wheel buttons.
