New iDrive & Top View Camera(s)

Just ordered (in UK) a new X5. Was told the new iDrive with hard disk and the new 'Top View' reversing camera will be fitted (where ordered) to all vehicles from production week number 41.

Can anyone confirm this and also when production week 41 is?

Yes, yes, I know Week 41 should be 05-OCT-2009 but just need to know if BMW run to this for their production weeks...also is Week 41 the start week for the new iDrive being installed?

I believe I read on this board that October 9th is first week of 2010 production and would bet all 2010's get the updated iDrive. Don't worry, be happy.

Thanks for that...my X5 is scheduled to start out life during Week 44 (26-OCT-2009), and I'll be taking delivery in the UK first week of December. Dealer believes I WILL have the new iDrive and the new three-camera 'top-view' version...can't wait!!!

Can anyone say Picasso?

It will be interesting to see how well you can see the back-up view that is at the bottom in real life.

However, this will be great for parallel parking to avoid curb rash.

Coming from an early E70 without any camera (only PDC), this will be an improvement.

Thanks for the pics!

Apparently I'll have to actually clean and detail my roof with this topview...
