I have black/black in Texas and love it. You could have a white/white car in Texas and it would still be hot. Max A/C is simply a must and park the under cover whenever you can.

I find that black interiors shows the least amount of wear and stains; my wife has a light gray interior that never looks quite clean even after caprets are shampooed.

Thanks for all the responses guys. From what I'm reading, the Adaptive Drive is not as important as I thought. Honestly, I own a 325ci non-sport, and as far as handling is concerned, it hadles better than any car I've ever owned. It even outhandles my CLK 500 with upgraded suspension components and is a true pleasure to drive.

As for the other options listed, 3rd row seat is a must we have kids. The wife wants a DVD system for the kids, I will look into the other option mentioned and compare cost and benefits. Screens in the headrests would probably be better as we will have a child seat (baby on the way). PDC also important for kids sake.

So this leaves the comfort seats, vs the Sports Activity Pkg. I really like the shadowline trim, steering wheel, and anthracite headliner. However, the wife likes the regular grey headliner much more, she didn't want black/black anyways, that was my choice. The steering wheel is probably not a big deal, I can always change it later. The shadowline trim is really nice, but at least there is no chrome trim on the non-sport 35d, that would be a no no. So now it comes down to the seats. If the sport seats are almost as nice as the comfort seats, I think I will go with the sports pkg. However, I could make a compromise and probably make my wife really happy and go with the comfort seats. This is how it was initially configured, but I put in a change order and changed out the comfort seats for the Sports pkg. Crap I cant decide, I keep changing my mind!!!

The comfort seats are wonderful. A must in my book.

drop the wheel upgrade, pick up some used 214's here (be patient) the 3rd row and the DVD player, It will be obsolete in 2 or 3 years anyway. Get all of your options Or at least SAP and Tech Package. Having iDrive without navigation is like going to MIT and then transferring your last term to your local tech.

I have the comfort seats in my 5er, and I had a 2009 335xi with sport seats. I like them both. I say head over to your local dealer and sit in X5 comfort seats, and sit in X5 sport seats. That will help with your decision. (I don't think the bolsters on the 2009 X5 sport seats are adjustable, whereas they are on the comfort seats. I'm hoping for adjustable bolsters on X5 sport seats for 2010. The sport seats on my old 335 had adjustable bolsters.)

To me, the comfort seats are great. But what I like most on them is the extendable (is that a word?) thigh support. The sport seats have that as well, and with the sport package I get a bunch of extras for a little more money. I think what I'm saying is that the sport seats are almost as good as the comfort seats. The sports seats are still good enough to get, while getting extra sport package items. Now I think I'm rambling...

Go test the seats. lol

EDIT: I wouldn't get the rear entertainment package. The screen can get in the way, and it's probably cheaper to get front-seat mounted screens.

I am considering droping the Rear Entertainment Pkg and the Sports Pkg, and getting the comfort seats and Adaptive Drive. If I can get the dealer to throw in the RES Dual system (alternate DVD entertainment system - headrest), then this will be the perfect setup for me.

I'm looking into a rear entertainment system that's not the RES from factory. It's about that time - my two 14mo. kids are getting impatient on 1hr drives. I wish there were a variety to choose from (I hope Invision is working on new designs). About the "obsolete" comment... if you get a system that accepts multiple formats (divx, etc.) & inputs (usb, etc.) then it wouldn't matter as much... that is if you have the time to convert and rip discs. I don't believe the quality of a blu-ray is really necessary on such a small screen - the problem really comes back to just being able to play the damn thing out of the box though I'm sure.

Which option would you guys pick, the Adaptive Drive or Tech Package. With the new enhancements in the Tech package, it is looking mighty attractive.

I'm picking the Tech PKG...reason why, cause I waited for the 2010 model for the new Nav...that was what held me back from ordering the 2009.

That's just me...but I like the toys
