Unhappy Fixing Curbed Wheels

Can anyone recommend a good place to fixed curbed wheels out in Southern California?

It looks like it's only cosmetic damage. My wife accidentally scraped against the curb while getting out of a drive-thru (not Wendy's like Rh71, but Taco Bell).

It's a real bummer cuz my Tire/Wheel Insurance won't cover this.

Just wondering if anyone knows how long the process would take (can I simply wait for it)? And how much it cost?

It's the Front and Rear on the passenger side.

Thanks.

I have so much trouble with Wendys that I try to wait until I have a series 3 loaner or am using my wife's Mazda. I like the wide stance of the X5, but caution is the word for drive-throughs of any kind.

Anyway, I have made an appointment and then waited. Looking at your damage, I would think the wait would be maybe an hour depending on other factors like rain that day which slows the drying process.

these damned drive thrus with narrow turns... you know ordinarily it wouldn't be a problem to judge a turn going straight through but after you look away to stop and pay / pickup your food, you don't know where that damned curb on the other side is anymore. Just gotta hug the side you do know until you finish the turn... lesson learned.

Just had all 4 of my wheels painted in the local body shop for $550.00 (the body shop has a special for curb rash on wheels).

And here I thought this is exactly the kind of cosmetic wheel damage these policies were supposed to cover

So tell her the next time that if she hits a curb, to backup and smack a good one so the insurance will cover it

If you don't mind, what Tire/Wheel insurance do you have?

I had my wheels repaired at my dealer. They did it a very good and you can't tell it was damaged at all. The guy said it would take 3 days, but he put my car in priority and was able to get it done in 1 day. He also gave me a spare wheel so I could drive the car in the mean time..

Good luck with your wheels!

Most policies will only cover wheel damage if there is a "total loss of Air" or if it is damaged/bent so bad it causes loss of air. Road rash and minor bent wheels won't qualify if it isn't leaking. Check the fine print or lack there of, and the interpretation is up to the insurance company.

Funf Dreisig: The dealer sold me the IAS Warranty, INC "Tire & Wheel Road Hazard Service Contract". I believe the insurance company is "Virginia Surety Company".

Alas, in the exlcusions # 16. "Tires damges through impact with curb" is not covered.

Hartawan: I'm out by the Pasadena, LA area. Orange County is convenient for me too.

Denalio: Yeah. The policy does cover it is it's unable to hold the air. But the injury on the wheels aren't that bad.

If I can't find a place, I might just end up taking it to the dealers. Hopefully, they have spare wheels to put on my car in the meantime.

Ooh, I live in Pasadena too haha. There is Bolton Classic Wheels, over in the City of Industry I believe, there is RB Motoring. There is also a mobile repair service Mike 714-457-4323.
